MISSION Deployment of sensor disruption probes via fighter craft

OUTCOME Mission accomplished without major engagement. Destruction of Mogai warbird via incidental encounter near rogue comet

KEY PERSONNEL

  • 10th Carrier Air Wing

NARRATIVE On reported Stardate, USS Forrestal launched fighters from VFA 123, 188, 201 and VAQ 140 in reference for request for deployment of sensor disruption probes in the assigned sectors. To facilitate the rapid deployment of such probes, Forrestal engineering department fabricated sensor probe launchers (modified mine dispersal units) for deployment on Valkyrie fighters.

Deployment consisted of two fighters equipped with dispersal units, with two additional fighters escorting. Peregrines from VAQ 140 were escorted by fighters from VFA 21.

Initial deployments proceeded without incident. During final deployments in the Rator sector, group from VFA 188 was intercepted by RSE patrol consisting of one Mogai warbird. During evasive maneuvers, the Mogai was deceived into chasing the fighters into a cloud of stellar gas. Within the same cloud was a rogue comet, which impacted the Mogai, destroying it.

No further engagements occured or were attempted.

RECOMMENDATION Maintain monitor of sensor probes by fleet command for their requested mission.

RECOGNITION Carrier Air Wing 10 for superb performance in their given assignment. Forrestal Engineering department for rapid replication and deployment of sensor probe dispersal units.
