NARRATIVE While en route to the first nav point on our patrol route, the Mariner received a distress call from the F.C.S. Mack. Upon arrival, three Orion Interceptors were observed attempting to cripple and board the freighter. The Interceptors were quickly disabled with a tractor beam and surgical strikes to their engines.
All three vessels contained the majority of known associates of an Orion Syndicate cell known as the Jade Lotus, led by the criminal known as Jaggav. Jaggav and his associates in the Jade Lotus are currently wanted for murder, attempted murder, grand larceny, petty theft, assault and battery, and grand theft starship in six different sectors of Klingon and Federation space. All prisoners have been identified through referencing Klingon public records and authorities in proper sectors have been notified. As of writing, Mariner is currently en route to Deep Space 13 to facilitate the prisoner transfer.
Among the prisoners was a 13-year-old Orion boy identified as Arrin-Sar, who aided an attempted to facilitate an escape by eluding detection from the Mariner’s internal sensors after transport and tampering with the power grid to cut off energy flow to the brig. Upon the resolution of the attempted escape, the boy was detained. A records search determined that his parents passed away in an EVA accident in Klingon space.
While unauthorized access with intent to breach security is a violation of Federation law, he is an impressionable juvenile, and there is a strong possibility that the boy was coerced to serve the interests of the Jade Lotus under threat of physical harm. Lieutenant Vaas will be petitioning to become the boy’s legal guardian and, with the approval of Captain Tolar, work to secure a plea deal with supervised work release aboard the Mariner.
RECOMMENDATION Level 1 diagnostic on internal sensors, revise security protocols to avoid further incidences of children escaping into the Jeffries tubes. Secure current kitchen implements in locked storage in Café Estrella and replace with child-safe alternatives.
RECOGNITION Lieutenant Vaas’s inside knowledge of the Jade Lotus’s operations made it trivial to disable their ships despite the numerical disadvantage. He should be commended for his expert application of tactical strategy.
OOCA bit late, but this is the report for the event I hosted on the 8th. Thanks to everyone who participated!
