BACKGROUND With the government of Waydis requesting assistance, the U.S.S. Endeavour, filled with medical and engineering supplies, set off towards the system to render aid. We had taken on an Engineering team from the U.S.S. Pegasus under the leadership of LT Mirez, to aid with the refugee efforts. We also had a group of cadets shadowing officers on the ship for an upcoming Academy assignment.
NARRATIVE En route to Waydis, we detected a strange energy signal coming from the Zytharion System. As the energy signal could have indicated Terran technology left over from the invasion, this officer opted to divert for a few hours to investigate.
On arrival to the system, we narrowed down the energy source coming from the second planet in the system. The planet itself was devastated, with particles and elements in completely the wrong place and completely random. It is unknown what caused the planet to be this way; any signs of civilisation were abandoned and destroyed. The energy source was identified to be nuclear radiation and we were able to locate that it was underground. Unable to investigate for longer, we deployed a probe to collect data to be picked up when we revisit the system on the way back from Waydis.
RECOMMENDATION Further investigation.
RECOGNITION Lieutenant Miyawaki spearheaded investigations and is performing well.
