On Stardate 91942 USS Indomitable received orders to lead a task force,to backup the USS Endeavour 1.4 LY from the Betreka Nebula, who was reporting Imperial Romulan Warbirds decloaking near Federation trade route. The Taskforce comprised the USS Indomitable CO Tamara Sant; RRW Anarhai CO Aurelia t'Veras; USS King's Mountain CO Erika Hayasaki; USS Mystic CO Alexander Savage.
Upon arrival the USS Endeavor warped to safety and the civilians at the mining outpost began evacuation procedures. The combined scans of each ship of the task force detected three ships -- a D'derix a Mogai and a freighter. The IFFs declared IRW Nalae, IRW Selea and an unidentified freighter. RRW Anarhai Actual confirmed the IRW vessels to belong to War Criminal D'Kera Mandukar's flotilla.
USS King's Mountain gave the civilians protective cover for their evacuation while USS Mystic continued scans and the RRW Anarhai went under cloak. The objective was to protect the civilians during their chosen action of evacuation from the mining outpost while keeping the Imperial Vessels at bay.
Further scans confirmed that the Imperial Vessels were mining protomatter from the nebula, task force conjectured that the protomatter was for use in the creation of Illegal Genesis torpedoes.
As soon as the civilians were safely away the Task Force moved forward with the intent to herd the Imperial Vessels out of the Nebula, preventing them from any further mining. The Imperial Ships were content to stay just out of range of our weapons so we pushed the speed and I finally gave the Anarhai the order to fire at the engines of the freighter. The intent was two-fold -- 1) to make the Imperial Ships leave and 2) possibly get more intelligence on the protomatter mining actions.
As the task force picked up speed and the Anarhai fired, the Imperial Ships Immediately cloaked and went to warp. The task force then proceeded to mine the hell outta that Nebula with probes that will send back constant telemetry in order to alert both the mining outpost and command of the presence of any further Imperial Ships.
As part of the operation we rescued one abandoned puppy.
