BACKGROUND Ensign Sovum was onboard the U.S.S. Endeavour as part of her CPD, to gain experience with medical issues away from her current posting. During a break in her shift, this officer met the Ensign in the lounge, where the Ensign asked for assistance with a patient.
NARRATIVE The case of the patient was easily solvable, and once Ensign Sovum gained the necessary permissions from this officer, she was able to wake the patient, providing scans upon which it became apparent that the patient was suffering from a pulmonary embolism and a concussion, both of which were easily treated by the Ensign.
The patient was able to shed some light on the nature of her rescue; the U.S.S. Endeavour had picked her up from the So’Ti colony, a colony thought voluntarily abandoned by the away team who investigated. However, the narrative espoused by the Trill and verified by this officer, stated that the colonists just “disappeared” and that she saw unknown ships around the colony before she was injured during a fall.
RECOMMENDATION The So’Ti colony deserves another investigation. Whilst the Trill believes that her narrative is correct, there is no evidence to prove her statement and follow up investigation is warranted.
RECOGNITION All officers performed as expected.
