Subj: Advanced Leave of Absence Request
Captain,
I have received some news from my sister on Earth and request an early extension to my leave of absence at this time.
My brother has been injured in a shuttle crash, he’s expected to be fine, but likely facing long term injuries.
Boston might as well be next to San Francisco with the planetary transport grid so I won’t miss the induction ceremonies and I’m happy to take this from my shore leave entitlement.
While this does limit the time left for a handover, I have every confidence in Lieutenant Commander Loxton’s ability to step into my role until a permanent replacement has been chosen.
I wish to thank you again for the opportunities and will continue to represent the values instilled from Deep Space 13 back through the academy and beyond.
