ANNOUNCEMENT: TFA Awards Ceremony Event Fall 2014

TF Argo Fleetmates,

Another great year has gone by within our RP Task Force. It's amazing how time flies and how many incredible stories you all come up with through the course of it. To show recognition for all that has been done, we are, once again, going to be conducting an in-character Awards Ceremony.

At a yet to be announced date (looking at dates in the month of October) the fleet will hold an Awards Ceremony. Awards will be for in-character actions of players and presented in an in-character format. Best of all?

YOU GET TO SUBMIT THE AWARDS!

That's right, the awards we will be presenting will be awards submitted by you for other players. Now the submission doesn't have to be a formal IC submission (a change from last year), rather just a submission for a deserving member of the fleet. But, please make sure that you are submitting it for a character, not a player.
So, how does it work? Well, below is a template for submitting an award. Fill it out and send it to me via enjin forum. I will consolidate the awards and admin team will prepare the remarks for the presentation. Awards will be presented in an IC format, so please include some type of reason for the Character to recieve the reward, but you can also talk about things the Player has done to deserve recognition by the fleet

What awards are available for submission? We are trying to stick to canon awards as best as possible. The current list of awards we are looking at are as follows:

Star Cross
Starfleet Decoration for Gallantry
Palm Leaf of Axanar Peace Mission
Cochrane Medal of Excellence
Starfleet Medal of Commendation

All of them can be found on the Memory Alpha page and are awards recognized by Star Trek Lore. Feel free to look them up on Memory Alpha for brief descriptions. If you have a recommendation for other awards in the Star Trek universe, don't be afraid to ask about that too.

Finally, its going to happen that some people are going to get nominated, but be unable to attend the event . That's ok, we are working on something for that too, so feel free to submit with reckless abandon!

Here is the format for the awards:

Just fill it out and submit it to me via enjin mail.

Here is an example to give you an idea of what a submission would look like:

Awardee:
Ensign Kevin Jackson

Award Type:
Starfleet Medal of Commendation

Reason For Award:
Jackson has played in a lot of events I have held for the fleet, and did a lot of vouchers for our applicants. He has also done a great job portraying his character as a tough officer, but one that can make decisions. In-character I think Jackson should recieve an award for when his away team saved the lost Romulan during an event I held in July.

Finally, as I learned last year, consolidating and finalizing these awards is a tough tough job for the admin team. So, we will be closing submissions about 5 days before the event is held. As of yet, this date has not been set, but we are looking at around the middle of October. Look for updates here.

The event is now scheduled for 4 OCT, Gamma shift.

Thanks for all that you do, and please let me know if you have any questions.

Name: T'Rihu Jarok

Award: Miss SB13 - 2410

Reason: She's so fancy, you already know. She's in the fast lane, from Andoria to Qono-nos. She's so fancy, can't you taste this gold? Remember her name 'bout to snow.
I wanted to also bring to everyone's attention that if you have a character that you are looking to promote in a formal setting, these ceremonies are great places to do it. Just contact me or Katriel and we can work it into the ceremony. If you are not sure what an IC promotion should look like, let us know and we can help you plan the details!

Thanks.
