Hello Argo,
Over the next few days, we'll be introducing you to our new initiative for exploration RP. We're hoping this will open up opportunities for both ship-based and away team exploration RP, for single-player ships, player-crew ships, as well as the starbase crew. There are a few different things going on here, so please keep an eye out for more announcements to come!
The first step in all of this, available to you immediately, is the creation of a bank of ideas for future plots. You'll all notice a new subforum in the Sys Ops Network, called the Plot Database. Like all posts in the Sys Ops Network, your threads will only be visible to you and to the admin team. This subform is for submitting any ideas you may have for planets, star systems, species, nebulae, partially developed plots, or anything else you can think of that Argo might be able to encounter while out exploring the unknown. Ideas not related to exploration are acceptable as well.
These can be as simple or as detailed as you'd like. For example, one of you might tell us that you'd like to see "a planet of sentient fish-people". Someone else might choose to post a seven page outline of the politics, ecosystem, species anatomy, and space travel capabilities of a particular star system that you'd like Argo to encounter. Both of these are acceptable submissions, as is anything and everything in between.
These should be ideas that you do not plan to GM yourself. By posting ideas for the database, you're giving us permission to expand/modifiy/use those ideas for future RP events. For things you do want to GM yourself, don't worry, we've got you covered there too! Stay tuned for more info on that, coming very soon.
