I understand that you will soon set out upon a lengthy journey within about a month. While I do wish you well on your journey, I do suggest you prepare for it with some socialization in the here and now. There is going to be, quite soon, a gala revolving around raising funds for orphans of the recent Klingon conflict. It is something that I know you are unfortunately familiar with.
Each person who acquires a ticket gets a 30,000 EC stipend to use on purchasing a painting. While my own is more than likely to be purchased easily, I had thought about stimulating the competition to ensure more donations. If you would care to purchase a ticket and send me the stipend, I would seek to ensure that it is used to elicit as many competitive donations as I can, as people are quick to throw money at something to show their own prowess. It would be most agreeable to see you at the gala.

Good Day Lieutenant Commander,
It is good to hear from one, it has been some time since we last spoke, and as you have stated I will be going on a lengthy mission soon, perhaps we could talk again before that time, I do enjoy these talks.
As to the gala and the auction, I have read a little about this but saw no real interest in it as I have been regularly donating GPL from my personal funds to support various organizations that support orphans throughout both the empire and the federation. I even helped fund a newly constructed orphanage along the border of klingon space away from any hot zones for the unfortunates whose houses were destroyed or had no where to go to begin with, a little similar to myself when I was but a child.
I assume it was our mutual feelings for the orphans and not my Vulcan friend attempting to use this information along with knowledge of my psyche to influence my decisions in an attempt to gain more capital for a painting, that prompted you to send this message. I too feel deeply for them.

I do recommend you attend regardless of your decision. Starfleet is paying for the tickets so it would be a waste to ignore the opportunity to send funds where they are needed. Particularly since Starfleet has a habit of creating that need as well.
If you desire to do so independently, the same cause is supported. However, the implication of a sinister and unrighteous underlying motivation in my communique, I do not take kindly. I was hoping to motivate others to aspire towards merit and morality with financial incentives as I alluded to in my previous communication. Good day.
