HISTORICAL NARRATIVE
Maxwell S. Austin was raised in in the outskirts of Chapel Hill, North Carolina under the watchful eye of his parents, Fiona and Richard Austin. Studious and athletic, Maxwell excelled in his early educational pursuits. At the prompting of his mother, he applied to Starfleet Academy and was accepted in 2405, with the intention that he would pursue a scientific tract. However, with war brewing on the horizon, Maxwell was encouraged by his professors to pursue a different path.
After graduation, Maxwell was immediately enrolled in Advanced Tactical Training, a two-year program of strategy, logistics, and fleet management, graduating Salutatorian of the program. He was immediately posted to Starbase 27-Baker as a Tactical Liaison to Admiral J'Tor, where he continued his studies.
Eager to "get into the thick of it," Maxwell transferred to the USS Copenhagen (Galaxy) in 2409 where his tactical prowess was leveraged heavily during the ship's engagements against Klingon forces.
In 2413, Maxwell survived the destruction of the USS Copenhagen during an engagement with Klingon forces. Ignoring the order to abandon ship, Maxwell remained at his station and used the remainder of the Copenhagen's power reserves to fend off the Klingon ships, which had taken to destroying escape pods. Despite incredible odds, overwhelming injury, and the certain loss of his own life, he remained until the last enemy ship was destroyed, which he accomplished using judicial aim and the Copenhagen's ejected antimatter pods. The Copenhagen's hull would shortly thereafter fracture and tear, with Maxwell narrowly escaping using a respirator and damaged shuttlecraft.
After a six month physical and psychological recovery period, newly minted Lieutenant Commander Austin reported for duty at Starbase 74 as their Strategic Operations Officer, coordinating fleet logistics and positions for the SB74's operational theater during the Iconian War and Hur'q Conflict.
As of 2418, Maxwell was promoted to the rank of Commander and continues to fulfill the responsibilities of Strategic Operations Officer at Starbase 74.
