Changes to Fleet Shift Schedule

Hullo, Argo.

So staff has been a bit busy behind the scenes dealing with administrative things and we're actually kind of finally approaching critical mass on that front, so I'm expecting that you guys will be hit with some rather large reveals over the next month or so. Keep an eye out for those changes, big and small.

Today, however, we're rolling out this organizational/semantics change that is pretty important, but ultimately doesn't affect how we do things in Argo.

As most everyone is already accustomed to, we have used "shifts" to help us designate what the most likely event times are/will be and to eliminate timezone conversion labor. For the most part, this has been fantastic, with only some minor gaffes.
i.e. there is sometimes confusion over gamma shift vs gamma hour vs lambda shift but wait that's actually the same time as gamma what's going on ahh???

We've decided to go forward and hopefully eliminate any remaining confusion by expanding the shift schedule so that it's a repeating, daily cycle ... just like in the shows. Furthermore, the weekly timeslots will henceforth be referred to as simply "meetups". Cause ... that's what they are.

PLEASE NOTE the most important change to recognize through this transition is the fact that ALPHA AND GAMMA NO LONGER REFER TO THE SAME TIME. The old 'alpha' time is now 'gamma', while the old gamma time is now 'beta'.

Yes, this is definitely going to be a bit confusing for the short term, but we are hoping it will be better in the long term, as now we can refer to more times by shift titles, not to mention now the shifts are actually in order by their names.

For complete information/explanation of how things will be going forward, please see this thread.

This is a huge improvement for my understanding, because I always found the old system confusing when different shifts referred to the same times. So, if nothing else, you've made one user very happy! :)
