Command wants penetration testing done on the updated LCARS system. Requisition a computer specialist from Operations and catalog any weaknesses in the physical, transport or application layers that comprise and serve the main system. Work with your computer specialist to determine if any of the flaws you discover are correctable and send a proposal for those improvements to the appropriate Operations Team.

Hello Commander,

So, the first week we tried it, the team didn’t do too well; we hit two of the targets. We ran it again the week after though and did a bit better, got five this time. Still no luck with Captain Varley’s replicator. That thing has a lot of firewalls and we can’t even break into the first layer without alerting security.

Let me know if you want us to run it again, sir.

Thank you for your efforts, Ensign. I think that’s sufficient. I’ll review the reports and submit a summary to Captain Varley so she can pass it to Ops and the next chief of Security.

Discontinue all other targets for now; however, if you do manage to crack into Varley’s replicator at some point in the future, make sure you let me know.
