Crew of the USS Mariner:
Following receipt of a complete battle damage assessment by Starfleet Corps of Engineers, this command has determined that USS Mariner is crippled beyond repair. Crew remaining aboard are ordered to relinquish control of the vessel to caretaker crew and disembark prior to final deactivation and decommissioning to occur by end of month.
USS Mariner officers and crew will receive reassignment orders from 38th Fleet Personnel Office shortly.

Commander Tolar,
Effective immediately, due to decommissioning of USS Mariner, you are temporarily assigned as a reserve officer of the 38th Fleet. You will support the fleet’s ongoing operations by filling duty stations and mission taskings as appropriate and ordered.
Effective Stardate 100259.6 (April 5, 2423), you are requested and required to take command of USS Velian, NCC-99105, currently awaiting completion and commissioning. Upon assuming command of Velian, you are ordered to transit from Earth Spacedock to Deep Space 13 and report to Rear Admiral Bishop to receive operational orders and squadron placement.
Commander Ruke Warner has been assigned as your executive officer. Lieutenant Commander Bryant and Lieutenant Commander Zital will join you as reserve officers prior to transferring to Velian as Chief Science Officer and Chief Engineer respectively. A selection of former Mariner junior officers and senior enlisted personnel not reassigned elsewhere will also be placed under your command.
