Farewell 38th Fleet: Charity Auction and Gala
In acknowledgement of past partnership efforts in charity fundraising, the Addyson and Tuvya Foundation for the Arts celebrates the 38th Fleet and all their accomplishments in a final farewell gala.

As the 38th Fleet’s service draws to a close after more than a decade of decorated service, Addyson and Tuvya, announced today their intentions to celebrate the 38th Fleet’s many accomplishments.

The prominent Federation Arts Foundation has commissioned a round of masterpieces to be created to commemorate various historical moments in 38th Fleet’s service. For the next two weeks, the foundation will be soliciting proposals from the community and service members regarding the most memorable moments, deserving of immortalization. The most worth candidates will then be commissioned to masters to be brought to life to be sold in silent auction.

As before, Starfleet has promised a value of 30,000 credits to each of their personnel who accept an invitation to the proceedings, which includes participation in a silent auction preceding in the weeks before the final Gala event, which coincides with the date of 38th Fleet’s final Awards and Promotion Ceremony.

Non-38th personnel are also welcome to participate in the proceedings. They will, however, need to purchase their buy-in fee (30,000 credits). Individuals who are interested in attending the gala, but not participating in the auction process, must also provide their own entry fee of 200 credits.

Helloooo, Argo. For the third (or fourth…) and final time, we are hosting an art auction, this time to say farewell to the 38th Fleet.

There will be a pre-selection process that will take place over the next two weeks. During this time, I will be accepting submissions of descriptions of memorable and/or historical moments in the 38th’s tenure. (Task Force Argo times also acceptable.) The best submissions will be selected to be ICly commissioned as paintings that are submitted to auction for characters to bid on.

To submit your nominations, please reply on this thread or open a ticket in Discord. The nominations can be considered IC if you want a specific character to be suggesting it, but we are accepting them OOCly as well.

Depending on how things go, there is a chance that I will OOCly do something special for the painting(s) that seem to be the most popular.

Subj: 38th Fleet memorial suggestions

I have a few suggestions for subjects of the 38th Fleet memorial artwork:

  • Our role in bringing the Romulan War to an end
  • Establishing a stable colony for the refugees of the Nation of Irreo
  • Feeding Kacam after the collapse of the Azedi Confederacy

I’m not much of an artist so I’ll leave the imagery to somebody else, but these are the moments I think of that impacted me the most.

Subj: YOUR SEARCH IS AT AN END

REJOICE, ARTMONGERS! AT LONG LAST, YOUR SEARCH FOR A SUITABLE TOPIC TO DEPICT IN THE IMMORTALIZATION OF THE 38TH MAY CEASE! I, H’AJAH, DAUGHTER OF SHAL, SHAPER OF MINDS AND SCOURGE OF PETTY TYRANTS EVERYWHERE, GIFT UNTO YOU NOT JUST ONE, BUT THREE PROPOSALS WHICH WILL ECHO THROUGH TIME AND STIR THE HEARTS OF ALL WHO LOOK UPON THEM.

CLEAR YOUR MIND AND LET MY WORDS CRAFT FOR YOU A VISION OF SUCH STARTLING POWER AND VIGOR THAT YOU WILL FOREVER BE CHANGED. A PHALANX OF WARRIORS STANDS AT THE CENTER OF THE FRAME, THEIR MUSCLES STRAINING AGAINST THE TAUT FABRIC OF THEIR TATTERED CLOTHING. THEIR LEADER’S FACE IS PULLED INTO A MIGHTY GRIMACE; SWEAT BEADS HER RIDG’D BROW. SHE HOLDS A SILVER SHIELD ALOFT, SHADING HER BRAVE COMPANIONS, AS THEY WADE TOWARD THE VIEWER THROUGH A SEA OF JAGGED METAL BLADES. SURROUNDING THEM, CLAWING AND TEARING FROM ALL SIDES, DISEMBODIED TALONS TRY TO REND THEM TO PIECES. YET THE WARRIORS ARE UNDETERRED! THEY PRESS FORWARD RELENTLESSLY, FOR THEY ARE THE FIGHTING SPIRIT OF THE 38TH!

NOW BANISH THIS IMAGE FROM YOUR MIND, IF YOU CAN. PICTURE INSTEAD A DIFFERENT GROUP, THIS ONE CLAD IN SHINING METAL ARMOR. THEY CARRY TORCHES WHICH PROVIDE THE ONLY ILLUMINATION IN THE SCENE. BEHIND THEM, THE SOFT GLOW OF MOLTEN ROCK FRAMES THE DOORWAY THAT ADMITTED THEM UNDER GRAVE DURESS. SOFTLY LIT BY TORCHLIGHT, THE STRANGE ARCHITECTURE OF A LOST CIVILIZATION IS DISCERNIBLE IN CONTOURS AND ACCENTS. ABOUT THEIR FEET, ROTTING CORPSES AND GNAWED BONES LITTER THE FLOOR. THE FACES OF THESE DELVERS IN THE DARK ARE UNDETERRED, FOR THEY REPRESENT THE DRIVE OF DISCOVERY THAT LIVES IN THE 38TH!

ONE MORE VISION WILL I CONJURE FOR YOU, AND NO MORE. A SCIENTIFIC LABORATORY, ITS WALLS AND TABLES HEAPED WITH BIZARRE, BAROQUE INSTRUMENTS OF INSCRUTABLE PURPOSE. AT THE CENTER OF THE FRAME, A GREAT CAULDRON TEEMING WITH A VISCOUS, REVOLTING PRIMORDIAL SOUP. A SCIENTIST LEANS OVER THE CAULDRON, HANDS RAISED IN EXULTATION. HER GLEAMING, SHARP TEETH ARE BEARED IN A GLEEFUL SHOUT, BUT HER EYES ARE HIDDEN BEHIND DARK, MYSTERIOUS GOGGLES. THE CAUSE OF HER DELIGHT FLOATS ABOVE THE MORASS: A BEAUTIFUL WHITE ORIGAMI BIRD TAKING FLIGHT. IT IS THE GLEAMING HEART OF INGENUITY WHICH BEATS WITHIN THE BREAST OF THE 38TH!

IF NECESSARY, I CAN REQUEST LEAVE TIME TO POSE FOR ANY OF THESE PORTRAITS. IT IS BOTH MY DUTY AND PLEASURE TO SEE THAT THE 38TH IS HONORED IN THE MANNER IT DESERVES.

Memorial should depict delivery of electrokinetic interface mass shipment to Echomet. Event remains most substantial humanitarian achievement by Starfleet of 25th century to date.
