SUBJECT: D7 wreckage near the Archanis system
While I would normally object to using our valuable intelligence assets looking at wreckage, this is certainly an exception. The reports are correct, there indeed wreckage of a old D7 class battle cruiser here, furthermore, based on our initially analysis, this ship is no older than five years based on the rate of decay of the materials we collected. Our initial examinations show that the ship was destroyed by a barrage of photon torpedoes. At this time we've yet to find any bodies floating in the debris but we are still actively looking through out the debris field.
Until we can salvage this hulk and take it to our of our facilities for further examination, can't say with 100% certainly to it's authenticity, let alone who would go out of their way to construct relic such as the D7 and then destroy it. With your permission, I wish to bring Temporal Investigations into this matter just to relieve any doubts in my mind about the origins of this vessel.
