Long-Awaited Liberation of Rightful Imperial Colonies Begins
Today the brave and mighty fleets of the Romulan Star Navy flew into battle to liberate portions of the Empire that have been occupied by terrorist forces for the past 14 years. Stiff resistance has been encountered, owing to the so-called Republic’s material support from our enemies among the Federation and the Klingons, but their ragtag defenses cannot hope to stand against the full might of the Star Empire.
As expected, the Federation and Klingon Empire have denounced the liberation campaign in order to placate the terrorist regime occupying space in their alliance. Despite their empty platitudes, the Klingons show their true position with action - they will be remaining out of the conflict. The Federation has also not yet pledged military support to the Republic, but given their actions, it is expected that they will continue to lend the terrorists their support by way of covert operations and facilities access at a minimum.
Mere hours before the Star Empire’s campaign was set to launch, a Federation Ambassador spoke before a full assembly of the Senate. All diplomatic courtesy was extended, and the Senate carefully considered the Federation’s position on the matter of the terrorist republic. The Federation’s duplicity was put on full display, however, when members of the ambassador’s staff and their Starfleet escorts were discovered attempting heinous acts of espionage even as their representative preached the cause of peace. When their treachery was discovered, the “diplomatic delegation” fled Imperial space.
According to military experts, no amount of foreign aid will be sufficient to halt the campaign, which is already seeing momentous victories:
Imperial fleets have reached the Tri’Vokil System, which was forcibly annexed by the Republic less than a year ago over the objections of the Imperial world’s local government and populace. Our sources report rioting in the streets of Tri’Vokil’s largest cities, in anticipation of the end of the Republic occupation. The Star Navy has also broken through enemy lines at Beta Reticuli, where there are reports of mass defections and mutinies among the Republic defenders. It is also expected that the Empire will retake the dilithium mines of Chaltok in a matter of weeks.
Subadmiral Ecural put out this call in support of the ongoing defections:
In an exclusive interview with Empire News, Senator Jaleen discussed the path to reconciliation and expressed his desire for a peaceful resolution to this conflict. Directing his words to the leaders of the Republic, the Senator has this to say:
If the occupied colonies are allowed to return, this conflict will end. Make no mistake, though: fail to surrender them and this conflict will still end with the same result. Only you will be responsible for the Romulan blood spilled between your choices.
This has gone on long enough. It is time to come home.
To all the brave officers and soldiers of the Star Empire on the lines of battle tonight, know that you are joined by the Ruling Passion of billions of loyal Romulans, depending on your triumphant success. Elements carry you to victory.
