Kargas Event: Give & Take (8/14)

The K.D.F. war machine is enormous. The Empire boasts a vast collection of warships, stations, ground armies, and super-weapons. Ships require fuel, however, and soldiers must eat. Everything breaks down sooner or later--sooner if it sees combat--and broken parts must be repaired or replaced. War requires resources. For this reason, although the loresingers may not tell of it, the Empire's industrial and trade sectors are no less robust and bustling than their military. Entire great houses devote themselves to commerce above all else, and they are powerful for it. The Empire is beholden to them.

Strike Force Kargas' situation is no different. In days past, Kargas' daring raids and many victories bought them the support of Klingon houses and Ferengi opportunists. The strike force has fallen since then. Now, Kargas is seen as weak, and that appearance is quickly becoming reality as Kargas warships find themselves short of fuel and vital supplies. Some captains, perhaps, can support themselves by their own private sorties. Others cannot. More importantly, until Kargas is able to retain viable trade contacts, it will remain unable to serve its function of funding and coordinating efforts greater than intermittent raids.

It is time to rebuild.


This is the Wednesday event. It will involve some RP on the SFK starbase, followed by a short Foundry mission and then some more RP at the starbase.

The post-mission RP will focus on deciding how the fleet reacts to the events of the Foundry mission, which will determine the direction of future events in this series.
