Hi ma,
Sorry I haven’t written in a while. It’s been busy–same excuse as always. But I have some good news to share this time. I’m taking some leave soon and I thought I’d spend it on a visit home.
Lately I’ve been seized by a fierce bout of homesickness I just can’t seem to shake. I miss the ranch and the weather and you and pa and, well, everybody. I should have enough time saved to stay a few weeks–long enough to help out getting the herd ready, maybe even to join the drive to market if I time things just right. I’m sure pa’ll say it’s all handled but maybe you could soften up the ground before I get there. Come to think of it, better start working on Elas for me too.
I’ll bring plenty of stories from the frontier. Tell Decess I said she better visit while I’m there and Tick that I’m bringing her a souvenir this time. See you all soon. Love to pa and the rest,
