Lieutenant Commander,

Congratulations on your appointment as Chief Intelligence Officer. I expect that you will continue to provide the media with no information about the investigation into the death of Lieutenant Seonu.

We will discuss the matter further in person. Review the attached memorandum filed by your predecessor.

MEMORANDUM Status of Lieutenant Seonu, Asura

NOTICE This serves as a record of temporary duty assignment for Lieutenant Seonu, Asura to Commodore Alexander Silvercrest of Task Force Arget.

At an unspecified time, circa mid-2423, Lieutenant Seonu intends to intercept a potentially compromised Starfleet Intelligence Officer. Her mission will then transition to an unspecified infiltration assignment. Expect long periods of silence, with the potential of no contact, until the completion of her mission.

OOC The attachment is a seemingly random keyboard-smash of numbers and letters that go on for several pages, with no recognizable pattern or meaning. However, if a certain incoming Chief Intelligence Officer with experience in Tal’Shiar codes were to transliterate the text into Romulan script and then attempt an old Tal’Shiar cypher, she would be able to uncover an affidavit from Asura, indicating suspicion towards Commodore Silvercrest, and outlining how she intends to fake her death to be able to justify slipping off the grid and conducting an investigation on her own, with the intention of saving the lives of the rogue agents rather than locating them to then call in a kill squad as Silvercrest wants her to do.

Admiral,

Of course, sir. As per orders, we continue to entertain no informational requests from the media or outside sources aside from our established agreements with the Romulan Republic. All media requests continue to be sent to Starfleet Public Affairs.

The FNN article does concern me, partially because the writer made no attempt to contact that particular office. We will discuss this presently.
