TO <Taurus Squadron Commanding Officer, CAPT Dmitri R. Konieczko
CC <38th/Command
FROM <CAPT Trellain de Drowvani-Nimitz
SUBJ <Leave of absence
CAPT. Konieczko
Hello Sir, I am requesting a leave of absence from command of the USS Scharnhorst, due to medical reasons. My husband CAPT. Alistair Nimitz, and I, have decided to start a family together. Due to complications from trying to carry the pregnancy to term, the obstetrics specialists on base, have highly recommended I take leave of duty. I expect to be absent 9 months at least, but probably longer, with maternity leave. I have put my first officer, Elise Flores, in acting command of the USS Scharnhorst. She is a capable officer, and I hope that the experience, if you continue to let her serve as such, will prove beneficial in her advancement. I hope to be able to return to command of the Scharnhorst, after my leave runs out.
Sincerely
CAPT. Trellain de Drowvani-Nimitz

Captain,
It seems that you may be slightly outdated on a few recent command orders so hopefully the records of your available leave time are up to date. I'll be in touch with your executive officer within a few days to verify that you have the available time and that we won't need to postpone your leave until medically necessary.
Should anything further develop feel free to contact my office.

Captain,
After speaking with your executive officer a leave of absence has been granted for a period of nine (9) months. This leave time will expire and you'll be expected to resume command of the USS Scharnhorst on Stardate 94962.3 (December 18th, 2417) unless an extension is requested. This extension will not be a guaranteed fact but reviewed with factors present at the time of submission.
Command and authorization codes will be granted to your Executive Officer during this time.

TO RDML Koniezcko, D.; VADM Perim, N. CC CAPT deDrowvani-Nimitz FROM ENS Mavil, C. SUBJ Medical Leave of Absence Waiver |

Admirals,
I would like to bring to your attention the fact that I have examined the Captain deDrowvani-Nimitz and have confirmed that she is approximately six to seven months pregnant. Because of the nature of the multi-species pregnancy, in addition to her medical history of needing hormonal supplements to balance out her internal chemistry during this pregnancy, I highly recommend she spend the rest of the pregnancy on bed rest. This will take no more than four months time at absolute most, if things go their worst, timeline-wise.
At that time, it will be up to command, of course, to determine whether or not maternity and paternity leave should be granted to the parents.

Captain,
Accept my sincerest apologies for any irritation, stress or confusion, I'm not entirely sure why the automated message made it to you.
Consider your originally requested leave time of nine (9) months back in effect. I've taken it upon myself to extend the time by two days granting you back what you may have lost in the confusion. Your adjusted leave time will expire and you'll be expected to resume command of the USS Scharnhorst on Stardate 94967.7 (December 20th, 2417) unless an extension is requested. This extension will not be a guaranteed fact but reviewed with factors present at the time of submission.
Enjoy your leave.
