The following information is HIGHLY confidential and is not to be spread beyond yourself and your senior staff.

The 38th fleet has become aware of a planned attack on the Federation by the Confederacy of Azed. This attack is to take place in the Dartius system in approximately 96 hours from the writing of this correspondence. Thanks to this intelligence, the 38th fleet has been recalled and will depart from Deep Space 13 to the Dartius system in short order to repel the attack. Captain Quint has been dispatched ahead to establish a Starfleet and Federation presence in the Dartius system. He will hold Operational Command on scene.

Our intelligence informs us that this is to be a large scale test of a warp disrupting weapon that the Azedi have been developing, they are specifically targeting the Federation in it's test. It is vital that this attack is to be thwarted and that the Azedi find no success in their test in the Dartius system. In our limited exposure to the weapon we have found this disrupting effect to last approximately 9 minutes, however ships should still be able to maneuver on impulse to escape the afflicted space.

I recommend that each and every one of you read up on the Confederacy of Azed, Project Teleraptor and Project Udox as the latter two will be our primary means of defense in this assault.

The following information is HIGHLY confidential containing fleet movement and is not to be spread beyond yourself and your senior staff necessary to accomplish the fleet's task.

The 38th fleet has received further and more verifiable intelligence of a planned attack by the Confederacy of Azed. This new attack is to take place in the New Circini system. As the intelligence has developed so too has the 38th fleet strategy. The fleet will instead focus our attention on defending our allies at New Circini. Operations in the Dartius System are to be ended upon receiving this message.

While our initial intelligence informed us that the attack in Dartius is to be a large scale test of a warp disrupting weapon that the Azedi have been developing and that they were specifically targeting the Federation, the only assets we had in place were those that we intended to repel with. Despite moving our attention we must remain ever vigilant that the initial test in Dartius was a ruse to focus Federation forces away from this new New Circini attack or that the Azedi weapon may make an appearance at New Circini.

An operational briefing is to be conducted 2 hours into Gamma Shift.
