You will no doubt be pleased to hear that my request to forego shore leave this year has been denied, and I will be present on Risa during the specified interval. As I have been ordered to enjoy myself – quite an insensitive order, considering, I have concluded that participating in an organized recreational activity such as the one you propose will fulfill the spirit, if not the letter, of my orders.
I have obtained a players’ handbook for reading during the voyage to Risa and will be prepared by the time we arrive.
