FEDERATION ANSWERS REPUBLIC’S CALL
Federation Ships and Supplies Assist Republic Allies Liberating Romulan Colony
CH’AEHKLA, ROKELH SYSTEM, Stardate 94481.5 - The 38th Fleet deployed ships to come to the aid of Romulan Republic forces in the Rokhelh system when called for by their allies. The Republic was supporting a colony seeking independence from the Romulan Star Empire, ending in a clash between the two.
Ch’Aehkla is a K-class world in the Rokelh system which has a mining colony on its surface, located between the Japuri and Azure sectors in Romulan Republic space. Barely habitable, life is sustained in large biodomes that were originally constructed by the Romulan Star Empire. The situation had grown dire on the planet, and it declared independence from the Star Empire and its allegiance to the Romulan Republic.
Republic ships traveled to the system and became entangled in a battle for the planet’s future. Shortly after preparing a taskforce to be on hand for indirect support of the conflict, a priority one distress call altered orders to have the ship immediately respond to assist the Federation’s Republic allies in Ch’Aehkla space. Several ships were promptly dispatched: U.S.S. Victory, U.S.S. Vanguard, U.S.S. Asimov, and the U.S.S. Akagi. These ships were able to assist damaged Republic ships back to Deep Space 13 as well as recover injured Republic and Imperial personnel.
However, this was only the beginning of Federation aid to their allies. The 38th Fleet’s Commanding Officer, Vice Admiral Neema Perim, spoke with the Trill Federation Representative, Councilor Lentish. This meeting resulted in more Federation assistance to Ch’Aehkla, in the form of food, medical supplies, and assistance repairing the biodomes. There are currently only two functional biodomes on the planet’s surface; repairs are being completed as efficiently as possible.
Rear Admiral Konieczko stated, in regards to Federation assistance: “The 38th Fleet [is] and will remain committed to our Republic allies now and when called upon in the future.” He emphasized that this situation and the Fleet’s reaction was “proof of just that.”
About the 38th Fleet: 38th Fleet ARGO is dedicated to being at the forefront of Starfleet’s exploration and scientific missions, with the addition of having forces on hand to commit to assuring the security of this part of Federation space.
