PoF...who are we and what is that tribble doing out of its habitat?

*a general introduction to one of TFA's allies*

On a seemingly forgotten Dominion War era listening station, situated between several volatile fronts, resides a unique group of individuals. Lead by a woman known to most as Commodore, they work and fight, gather and try to thrive. Who are they? The story isn't that long of one, and it all started innocently enough. However, the residents of Station 721 are essentially refugees.

The head officers of the base: Captain Tamarin, Captain Sorit, Captain Cyrus Lysander and Commodore Sun'dara Amri were sent there after daring to go against the wishes of certain Starfleet higher-ups. See, quite a few years ago (back in Task Force Delta), those people had made a grave error and a sentient AI was the cost. The powerful AI known as Talon had been rumored destroyed and Captain Tamarin mourned the loss of her dearest companion. The crew of Delta grew, shrank and grew again - this time with a crew that contained some individuals with questionable pasts and hidden talents. The new intelligence officer, Sorit, knew about Talon and discovered that she had not been destroyed...she had been sold. As this violated Federation standards, the crew of Delta went out to find out the who's and wheres. When Talon was finally found, those higher-ups acted swiftly to cover their crooked tracks.

An abandoned listening station known as 721 (with a major tribble problem) became their new home. Joining the officers and Talon were: Bajoran Doctor Caleb Thornton, the Vulcan/Romulan T'Kayeda, mercenary Lynese, Romulan Kirina, ex-MACO Webster, Betazoid Cleopatra Monroe, Caitian M'rell and more. All had secrets or talents that Starfleet really wanted to keep hidden. All were sent to the station to "stay out of the way."

They quickly began bartering their few goods with local systems and later with a couple of sector bases (TFA). Diplomat T'kayeda worked tirelessly to make sure at least food and medical supplies were stocked, while Cyrus came up with a way to store the tribbles and to program exo-comps to cut items for ships and station. Sorit, forever mysterious, wandered between the base and answering the call of an Admiral who seems to have a lot of control over him. Tamarin, Talon and the crew of the Kyoto kept the Hirogen and rouge Romulans at bay...for awhile. Dr. Thornton managed to keep everyone intact. Sun'dara kept close eye on all of the incoming refugees or people sent to her by Starfleet. Through Sorit, she learned of factors and numbers which could lead to a very big problem for the small base. It has become her mission to make sure this band of "misfits" are trained and able to work as a team.

Hirogen are not the only enemies close at hand...

(about the name change) We moved into the two person Patterns of Force fleet after our former (task force delta) disbanded. It was led by the alts of two of our members and they had the base up almost to T2 when we all arrived in May 2013. Later, it was brought to our attention that the original leader (now an awesome co-leader...love you Frontenac) had been hasty with naming. He had taken it from a list of Trek episode names. Lo and Behold...it was the episode Nazi's were in. This does not represent us in any way. We decided to change to something that fit us much better -especially with the way our IC story is going. Protector of Freedom came to be!
Home were it belongs, in its very own sub-forum!
Thank you!
