History:
Rather venerable but reliable vessel, Dhael class warbird Myrmidon first entered service with the Imperial forces almost a century ago, though exact date has been lost with the records. Originally partaking in the 24th century skirmishes with the Federation, and later surviving the clash with the Dominion, Myrmidon finally fell into the hands of Republican rebellion early, as venerable state had it relegated to lower key duties within the Empire, leaving crew at the time ill prepared and understaffed. As civil war broke out even more rapidly, with subsequent incursions by the Elachi, Undine and the Iconians, Myrmidon has been refitted, modernized and returned to full active duty to fill the gaps left by the destruction. First command after refit has been taken by the subcommander Ael Neral, and ship saw minor service supporting JSI efforts in the expanse. As the interest in expanse waned and new more powerful ships entered service, ship got relegated back to supply and scout duty, and subcommander Neral stepped down as more experienced commander was found to serve as ship's captain. Recently, Myrmidon and its somewhat aging, but veteran crew and troops have been reassigned to DS13, as precautionary reinforcement against local colonial dissidents. Perhaps unusually for modern era, the ship still carries compliment of hundred and seven marines for boarding purposes and ground operations.

 | Commander Gorak th'Dol Near retirement, venerable veteran, and ex senator who has seen it all trough last two centuries and mostly tends to keep to himself, avoiding uneccesary contact. Tends to be conservative traditionalist, but also listens to input of his staff. His only desire is to earn his retirement with his honor intact and possibly in peace. |
 | Subcommander Ael t'Neral Veteran of several wars and quintessential leader of men in battle. She serves as ship's chief tactical officer and oversees many of its security functions as well. Troop core aboard the ship is near fanatically loyal to her due to over half a century of shared service for good deal of them. |
