The procedural issue that sent me here was cleared up over a rather nice seafood dinner in about two hours. There was an issue with the paperwork. Actual paper, even. I was scanning it into the system just now to file a report when the shuttle’s sensors alerted me to a sudden increase in verteron particles.
An Etnoziroh-class Dreadnought showed up. Everything is fine, though.
We’ve had reports of one of these crewed by religious fanatics wreaking havoc in the sector, but it was immediately clear this was another vessel. The Neutronium readings in the hull are inconsistent with their standard ratio, there are several large hull patches, it’s got a new sublight drive, and the entire system reacted as if this were routine.
Verteron readings suggest they’ve opened a wormhole on the surface and are currently doing some kind of cargo or crew transfer. A few of the smaller naval ships have taken up an escort position. I’ve attached sensor logs to this message.
I’m going to remain in the area and let the sensors work for the moment. I’m not sure the last time a Starfleet vessel was in the system, but I think we need to take a deeper look at this entire thing. Beyond the fact they’ve got a previously unknown dreadnought now, their ‘normal’ navy is looking awfully…large and advanced. I’m reading far more manufacturing facilities on the surface than expected, their diplomatic staff had a swagger I wasn’t used to, and the place just feels different.
