In response to your recent advertorial, I would like to submit myself for consideration to the posting of Executive Officer aboard the U.S.S. Endeavour. Whilst I do not have all the experience you ask for in a direct command position of a starship, I feel my supplementary experience, specifically the command of a large planet side research team, to make up for this.
Whilst my latest roles have returned to the focus of a Chief Science Officer, I have in the past three years been the Executive Officer of the U.S.S. Gainsborough, an original run Odyssey class, for a six month period. My latest assignment has once again taken me from a shipboard duty, however I am eager to return once more and follow Starfleet's mission of exploration.

Job Description
First Officer
Executive Officer, U.S.S. Endeavour
Reports To: The First Officer will report to Commanding Officer Dr Bishop, Samuel
Job Overview: First Officer role aboard an Endeavour class Starship, the USS Endeavour. Standard duties to include management of all 2,000 crew and acting as the Captain's advisor. Role includes working with and organising departmental heads, leading away missions and taking command in the event of the Commanding Officer's inability to perform their job. Compensation is provided with 45 Earth days shore leave.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and work well in a large team and in stressful situations.
- The ideal candidate will have existing experience managing and overseeing a large group of people (1,000+ people).
- The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience to be able to take command at a moment's notice.
- The ideal candidate will be able to work well with the Commanding Officer, as well as being able to have the confidence and the experience to disagree with the Commanding Officer should the need arise.
- The ideal candidate will be able to work closely with departmental heads to maintain a smooth running of the ship, as well as the Head Counsellor to maintain the smooth running of the crew.
- The ideal candidate will be physically and mentally fit to cope with the demands of the position.
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are encouraged, but not necessary as each candidate will be assessed on a case by case basis.
- Evidence of Command ability.
- Evidence of people management ability.
- At least twelve years of Starfleet service, two years of which served in a command capacity, one year of which served in a vessel with over 1,000 people.
- At least Commander rank.
Each candidate will be tested in a variety of standard physical, tactical, and command tests, before taking an interview. Successful interviewees may be invited to try out the role for two days before the final command decision is made.
