Dear Argo,
Hello there, old friends and new acquaintances. I know that I have been back from my LOA on and off for a few weeks now, but this weekend marks my official return with the new Admiral, and I plan to start working myself into more RP interactions. So... since I am kind of new to a few people, I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself...
I am Dae.
I am an admin for Argo, though if you joined within the last year, you may not know me because I was on a leave of absence from the fleet. Vermok the Destroyer of Systems was coming our way from Beta Centari and Ironman and Captain America just kept asking for help, and I originally told them I was busy, but they just kept asking and asking, so I said fine and thus was gone for most of the last year. But Vermok is gone (heads up Gamma Pavonis!) and so, I am back to life on Earth, and have returned to Argo!
So, I wanted to take a chance to introduce myself to the new people, and remind the people from the "before-times" of who I am. I thought of a few ways to do this, and conversationally seemed to be the easiest and most personable. But since I couldn't have a conversation with everyone all at once, I went ahead and filled in your lines for you on the below conversation. You are welcome. Here goes:
Dae: Hi there, I'm Dae. I'm a returning Admin.
You: Hi Dae, welcome back. I'm Me!
D: I know, I read your file when I got back.
Y: My what.....?
D: Your file.
Y: What file?
D: The Avengers keep files of important... people of interest.
Y: I.. have a file?
D: Yup. Don't worry though, I like chocolate too, so we're solid.
Y: Right... Uhmmmm... I think I should go now.
D: Oh sorry. Maybe we got off on the wrong foot. Can we start over?
Y: I suppose?
D; Hi there, I'm Dae. I'm a returning Admin.
Y: .... hi... Dae... again.
D: Hi you. Since I just got back, I thought maybe I should tell you about myself?
Y: Whew... yes, ok. That sounds like a good idea.
D: Great!
Y: Where do we begin?
D: Well, let me tell you about my Argo history. I joined the fleet in December of 2012. The fleet went through some admin changes in mid 2013 and that is when I became an Admin. Since then I have been enjoying the fleet, the community and the RP environment.
Y: You didn't enjoy the fleet before?
D: What? No! I mean, of course I did!
Y: But you just said "since then.." which implies that--
D: I have been enjoying the fleet since I joined. Since then.
Y: Right, ok.
D: Yes, so I tend to get involved in several characters within the fleet, both IC leaders as well as lower level characters. I generally play 3-4 characters in the fleet plus various NPC elements for stories.
Y: Do you like to kill characters?
D: What?
Y: Someone told us you like to kill characters.
D: Who? No, I do not LIKE to kill characters.
Y: They said you do it to make other people cry.
D: I do not! Ok, listen... in my time here, I have had a character or two who, through the course of the story, did die. But I do not do it just to kill them. I do it because it is part of the story.
Y: They said you'd say that, but really you just like to kill characters.
D: What? Who is this?
Y: They said not to say, and that you would get grumpy about it.
D: I AM NOT GRU-- *deep breath* Ok, so listen. Whomever your source is.... they might be a bit mistaken about some of the reasons why I ended a story or two a certain way.
Y: ....
D: Ok, so I have had several characters who have not in fact died. To name a few: Rilem Celes, Jacob RunningBear, Daemedus Welhuph, and Lieutenant Jal'Shan just to na--
Y: Oh! You play Shan as your main! That's you!
D: ...ok, so, I do play Shan, yes. But--
Y: So, YOU'RE Shan!
D: No, I'm Dae. I play Shan. This is a common misconception.
Y: Ok, Shan.

Y: They also said you would get grumpy about that.... guess they was right.
D: Listen, I am Dae. Lets just stick to that.
Y: Alright *whispers* Shan .. so what else?
D: Uhmmm, I guess that is about it. I enjoy lots of other games as well, though STO is my most played. And I have a general like for sci-fi storytelling. And I like science, especially space science. Oh! And my spirit animal is the Bear.
Y: Ah, ok. That is why there is a bear in a star field in your profile pic on enjin.
D: Yeah, exactly.
Y: Bear. Got it.
D: Yup... well... I mean, it used to be the Penguin.
Y: What, now?
D: Yeah, it used to be the Penguin, but now its the Bear.
Y: Uhmmm, you can't just change your spirit animal like that.
D: Yeah, I know. I didn't. Someone stole the Penguin from me.
Y: Someone stole it?
D: Yup. Stole it right off the top of my head, fast as a lightning bolt!
Y: Wow.... that's bold! They must have really wanted it for themselves.
D: Oh... well, actually they gave it to someone else.
Y: Wait! You mean someone STOLE your spirit an--
D; Former.
Y: .. Former spirit animal from you, and then... gave it to someone else?!?!?
D: Uhmmm, yup. Pretty much.
Y: That must be... like your arch nemesis!
D: Oh, no. That's, actually, my best friend.
Y: Your... best friend?
D: Yeah.
Y: ...did that to you?
D; Exactly.
Y: What do your enemies look like?
D: Mostly little teddy bear things that live in forests with pointy-sticks and slingshots. They'll steal your speeder if you're not careful!
Y: Yub yub?
D: Yep.
Y: ... I really need to go, now.
D: Ok. It was nice to meet you!
Anyway, so now we are all caught up. In all seriousness, I enjoy telling jokes for the most part, but also the Argo atmosphere and RPing here in this great community. I look forward to getting back into the swing of things, and if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.
