Vessel History
Tenacious Rhetoric's keel was laid down in 2405. Constructed on schedule in the Aewrra System, the freighter was immediately put to work hauling unrefined dilithium between mining and refining operations. The vessel's owners operated a marginally successful logistical concern for the first decade of the 25th century. While not breaking any specific regulations, the company's record was marred by reports of poor working conditions and compensation concerns. These reports were always covered up or deemed unfounded. The vessel went missing in 2409, and its whereabouts were unknown for over three years.
While it was assumed the vessel was lost, interviews after the vessel resurfaced in the Alpha quadrant in 2412 revealed that the captain and crew of the vessel agreed to stage their own disappearance. They freelanced for three years before increasing operating costs forced them to negotiate with another parent company. Records of what type of business they carried out during that three year span are lacking, but suspicions among the commerce authority report they were engaged in the smuggling of both sentients and goods. As a result of this, the vessel's captain looked for a corporation registered outside the Federation.
Negotiations were successful, and the vessel is now working out of the Doza and Kelterre sectors, running a mix of cargo and bringing in astounding revenue numbers. After a lengthy legal process the ship was granted the proper Federation commerce license and makes sporadic visits to Deep Space 13.
