SUBJ: Deepest condolences

To: Next of kin - Nurse Iotaw
From: LT R. Greene
Subj: Deepest condolences

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write to you from aboard the USS Mariner.

Nurse Iotaw fell in the line of duty on a recent away mission, bravely facing the unknown with courage and dedication.During this mission, the team encountered a previously unknown hostile lifeform. Iotaw was struck by the being when a group of them dove at the team.

I am Doctor Rhea Greene, the ships Chief Medical Officer, and I was privileged to serve alongside Iotaw. I know that words alone cannot ease the pain of his loss, but I hope that they may bring some comfort by offering insight into who he was to all of us here.

To the last moment, he truly embodied the spirit of Starfleet and of all who serve.

The loss of Iotaw has deeply affected our crew. He was, and always will be, a part of the Mariner’s family. His absence is keenly felt in sickbay, among his fellow medics, and throughout the ship. He possessed an unyielding dedication and resilience that inspired both his colleagues and patients.

Please know that his bravery will never be forgotten, nor will the memory of the life he shared with all of us. The Federation and the USS Mariner owe him a debt that can never be repaid.

If there is anything we can provide—details of his final days, messages from those who knew him best, or even personal belongings that hold memories of his time here—please let us know. We stand ready to offer any support that we can during this difficult time.

On behalf of the crew of the USS Mariner, please accept our deepest condolences and gratitude for the service and dedication he showed.

With profound sorrow and respect,

//SIGNED//
Lieutenant Rhea Greene
Chief Medical Officer,
U.S.S. Mariner
