To the crew of the Ecstasea, pending the outcome of the investigation on the loss of your vessel, all surviving crewmembers not in immediate medical danger will be assigned quarters onboard Deep Space 13, you will be confined to the sector and the local recreation area. Due to the nature of our investigation contact between crewmembers will be limited until after you have been debriefed and cleared.
The senior officers of the Ecstasea will be confined to quarters until I submit my findings to the Judge Advocate General and the Admiralty, additionally all Starfleet officers are reminded of their right to counsel with a member of the Judge Advocate’s Office and may have a JAG officer assigned to be consulted and present during questioning.

Those in need of additional care will be provided for, ether with house calls or provided escorts to their necessary destination. Your crew are not under arrest, the needs of the investigation only needs to ensure all the facts are collected and complied with as little hearsay contamination as possible.

It is not lost on me that the task of investigating such events is never an easy one. Thank you for the due diligence. As my Earth Father, Dr Vakmar Singh (Capt, Starfleet, ret.), says “If we aren’t willing to ask and answer the toughest questions, we may never get the right answers.”
Our crew will be relieved to hear they may now go on recovery leave.
