Captain Sh’ow, I regret to inform you that this is an emergency recall notice due to the loss of your command, the USS Ecstasea. You are to return to Deep Space 13 at best speed. You are not to communicate with your crew until authorized by myself or a member of the Admiralty.
While you are recalled to active duty, you and your crew will be confined to quarters until the conclusion of the investigation is completed and my findings submitted to the Judge Advocate General and the Admiralty.
I am also obligated to remind you that you have the right to consult with a member of the Judge Advocate General and have them present during questioning through the investigation.

I acknowledge your recall and instructions. I will be on the first shuttle and ship back to DS13 from Cait as soon as one is located.
I am unsure of what information I can provide for you during this investigation, but that is something we will have to resolve once I am back to the station.

Commanding Officer,
USS Ecstasea (NCC-69669)
In the interest of transparency I will be blunt Captain, you are being recalled for evaluation to decide if the Command staff choices you put in place before taking a leave of absent did or did not fall under the possibility of neglect or incompetence.
Furthermore Captain, if in the event my findings show that the loss of your vessel was due to the actions of the crew, as the Commanding officer, regardless of your status of being on duty or on leave, the ultimate responsibility will still rests upon your shoulders.

Considering I was on a leave of absence at the time of this occurrence, you legally cannot hold me responsible. While the vessel is under my command as a whole, I was not the commanding officer at the time of the occurrence. Therefore, the legal responsibility fall upon the acting commanding officer at the time of said occurrence.
I will also remind you, that is if you bothered to read the reports, the occurrence of what happened was a result of an attack. Under “force majeure”, or an “uncontrollable event”, the crew and it’s commanding officers are excused from liability in this event. Perhaps that is something that should take priority for investigations?
As stated before, the acting commanding officer is responsible for the safety of the ship and it’s crew. At the time of this occurrence, I indeed was not the active commanding officer. I had no contact nor control of the ship due to being on an emergency medical leave with my family. This bars any responsibility from myself as I was not there.
I could continue to speak on spacetime laws and procedures, but this channel isn’t the best place for this. I hope to see you soon to clear up any confusions you may have.

Captain, it is not my job to decide where the legal reasonability rests. That is for the Judge Advocate General’s job to decide, my job is to make sure there is an accurate and factual accounting of what has occurred.
Additionally, my prior response was intended as a courtesy. I have been in situations where my decisions have been questioned and evaluated, even in situations outside of my own control, my only intention was to insure you had full knowledge of the nature of the investigation, and I did not wish you to feel like you are about to be unfairly ambushed.
