I was just wondering how you were after the mission on Rulian III. I hope all is well with you. I know that we barely know each other, but I would feel bad if I didn't inquire about your wellbeing, especially considering the outcome.
I also wanted to let you know that I really think you deserved those commendations for your work. You did excellently, and it was a pleasure to work alongside you.

Thank you for checking on me. I admit, the mission rattled me, but I am dealing with it. I just wish I'd gotten there sooner. Maybe Mr. Elliot would still be alive.
I didn't do anything worthy of special praise. Fixing that transmitter was just a matter of getting lucky enough to have the parts I needed, and in the end it didn't even help because the bad guys boosted the noise. I appreciate the praise, honestly, but I wish people wouldn't make a big deal out of something little.

The way I see it, when things go wrong as they did in this mission, it's the little things that went well that we have to focus on. At the end of the day, your fixing of the transmitter allowed us to contact the Shackleton which allowed for our rescue. I wouldn't call that little.
I've spent this last week constantly going over the mission and the "what ifs". I've come to realise that those what ifs mean nothing now. All we can do is move on, and focus on the good things that happened on the mission; we saved 39 other lives, and that is no small feat.
