A survey has been sent out to all Fleet Captains+ about their preference of uniform. In the message it is asked that all Captains reply within a week for the convenience of Ensign Brecken. The choices for the survey are as follows: Starfleet Commanding Officer Serivce Uniform, Starfleet Officer Service Uniform, Alternating Uniform.
((OOC Notes)) Just a quick little survey about the type of uniform our lovely Captains here at Argo prefer. In case you couldn't tell this is a survey for Captains only so if you are not a Captain please don't post on this thread. Also incase some of you are confused for the choices for the survey they are as follows: Commanding Officer Service Uniform=White Shoulders, Starfleet Officer Service Uniform= Regular Shoulders, Alternating Uniform= Switching between White Shoulders and Regular Shoulders.
Captains, feel free to post your preference below or you can email it to me through Enjin i will post a result chart by the end of the week!
Apologies for any confusion, i'm not very good with words.
While I personally prefer the standard uniform, I do keep one of the variant tunics in my closet for special occasions that aren't quite special enough for the dress uniform. Good luck with your survey!
My personal preference is certainly for the standard issue officers uniform, so I tend to find myself wearing that a lot more when not on service duty. However, regardless of my preference, should I be carrying out my duties as Captain on the bridge of my vessel or any other significant portion of the ship, I shall often slip into the commanding officers tunic variant - or for a somewhat more formal occasion, the long coat with the lovely cuff's. If I come aboard Deep Space Thirteen, or any other installation that's not under my command, I will revert to my personal preference. I mean in honesty, if I had a better bomber jacket variant or a vest that suited smart-informality, you'd see me wearing those non-stop. Apparently my sincere requests to the Starfleet Tailor Administration must just get lost within the 'net.
Greetings, Ensign. I prefer the Commanding Officer service variant uniform.
I find the slight variation over the regular colour scheme goes a long way to maintain discipline, which can be used quite effectively to command on the bridge or silence a scrap between officers at a bar. It does mean that interactions between officers become rather formal, but I believe that a degree of discipline should always be maintained while in uniform. If for some reason I'd prefer to appear more casually, I would opt to change out of the uniform and into something else entirely.
Ultimately I like the Starfleet Officer Service Uniform out of the list. I don't like wearing a different or 'special' uniform to denote me as somehow 'more in command' than the fourth pip already does. It's kind of redundant. I've been through a lot, and I in all honesty prefer the rugged designs of the Odyssey Expedition in the color schemes of the Traditional Uniform. I find them both more comfortable and practical while doing the task of acting as a uniform very well.
Ultimately I'm not sure if I'd put myself down as the Officer Service Uniform, but it's the closest to the Odyssey Expedition Variant in the years current Uniform Code.
Ensign,
I find the Commanding Officer Service Uniform to be my favourite as it can quickly set apart Captains from lower ranking officers, something, in times of emergencies, can save lives. It seems, at least for me, to give a greater sense of authority.
I prefer to wear the Starfleet Officer Service Uniform. I spent most of my career wearing the uniform and it would be strange to change now. I also believe the white shoulders stand out far too much and simply demand attention.
I look forward to hearing of your survey results.

I'll admit I rather miss the last style of uniform. That said out of the current selections I prefer the Commanding Officer variant. No reason other than personal taste. It identifies quicker and I figure I might as well give my crew some forewarning I'm coming their way.
Gives them a sporting chance I guess.
Ensign,
If you people spent half as much time tending your trades as you do deciding what to wear I'm sure you would be sipping synthahol on your way back from the liberation of the Borg homeworld and the successful conquest of the Dominion.
TO: ENS Brecken FROM: CAPT Timoreev RE: Uniform Survey
Ensign,
In response to your survey request, I can say I prefer to wear the Commanding Officer Uniform. The possibility to immediately identify who's in charge can always be useful in critical or other situations.
Although I personally don't like to wear excessive distinctions which could separate me from the other members of the crew, I think that a commanding officer should always be easily recognizable.
TO: Ensign Brecken FROM: Captain T'Lira RE: Uniform Survey
Ensign,
In regards to your survey, I find that the standard uniform is sufficient. There is no need for the white shoulders. If my crew do not know who I am, I find that I must question their intelligence. I sincerely hope that is a satisfactory answer.
