The 8th MACO Battalion's Recon platoon is a highly trained reconnaissance force of MACO operators. These skilled warriors can fight on the land, ship to ship, and extra-vehicular. Their training is the best the galaxy has to offer.
Recon Platoon is supported by the USS Daedalus, the battle cruiser class vessel designed for their MACO team.
With a storied tradition going back to the Dominion Wars, the 8th Battalion brings the capabilities of a unique fighting force to Task Force Argo.

The U.S.S. Deadalus was first assigned to the 26th fleet as a support ship, and was Captained by Commander Keven O'Hara. There, they ensured the safety and security of Starbase 381 and its science ships as they conducted their missions. Later, USS Deadauls was assigned to the Borg front were it was destroyed by a Class Five Tactical Cube was previously commanded by Commander Keven O'Hara at the time of its destruction.
A new U.S.S. Deadauls NCC-93006-B was commissioned and is commanded by Captain Damion Scott.He accepted the maco's to use his ship as a platform to launch operations from. Threw out the the alpha quadrant and were ever they may be needed
The U.S.S. Deadauls was assigned to task force agro out of a request from captain Damion when he learned of the old captain of the old U.S.S. Deadauls Private First Class Keven O'Hara was on the station.
