NARRATIVE Six weeks after the USS Yorktown lost contact, the 8th Fleet deployed a task force lead by the USS Seleya under command of Fleet Captain File corrupted, Also joining the Seleya was the USS Augusta, USS Argama, USS Scout, USS Ulysses, and the USS Opportunity. The Task Force entered the former Neutral zone to investigate the last known location of the Yorktown near the Nukara system.
Upon arrival at Nukara, the Yorktown’s distress buoy was discovered near wreckage of the Yorktown’s Port nacelle and much of her port side engineering sector. the buoy recorded that the ship had encountered a Minosian minefield, investigation by the 8th Fleet showed that there was only a single lone mine of Minosian design. The impact was roughly three times the yield of a MKV Photon Torpedo.
A decaying warp trail lead the Task Force to the Ker’rat system where they discovered the Yorktown repaired and docked at a repair station of similar construction to one encountered by the crew of Captain Archer’s Enterprise in 2152. A landing party was assembled and beamed over to the station after discovering that the Yorktown was abandoned.
The Landing party beamed over to the station and discovered the crew was being held hostage after the station had repaired the ship due to unable to being able to pay the fee of One Hundred bars of Gold Pressed Latinum.
The Landing party was able to overwhelm the Station’s lockdown and break the crew of the Yorktown free, the Task Force and the newly liberated Yorktown then departed Ker’rat and returned to Federation space at Deep Space K-7.
Historical records Records of this event largely befuddled Starfleet intelligence, and was not until contact was made with the Ferengi Alliance in the mid 24th Century did records become more clear. After the signing of the alliance in 2381 by Grand Negus Rom released records by the Ferengi Commerce Authority did the full picture unfold.
An FCA Officer named Krug was able to obtain an automated repair station in the 2290s and attempted to run an extortion scheme alongside Minosian arms dealers. The extortion scheme was ultimately abandoned after the Klingons sent a task force to destroy the station shortly after the 8th Fleet reported the situation.
