Captain, as we discussed the other day, I'm writing out the outline to my current plan for the investigation into confirmation on Species 2492 being the Azedi.

The first part of the plan involves talking to one Ms Seres Avlin to gain the location of a debris field that she recently salvaged. To this end if she doesn't cooperate at first, I am prepared to offer her monetary incentive. Alternatively with permission from 38th Command, a conditional forgiveness for her more serious past crimes. Ether offer should be enough to get the location from her.

Once she agrees to give the location, I will take the Akagi, or if it is too close to Species 2492's territory, request assistance from a Republic Warbird. Ideally the RRW Lykara or a smaller T'Varo class warbird. Once passage has been arranged to the location of the field, the Akagi or Warbird will search the debris for any black boxes still left behind.

Failing that, I'd like to begin planning a return to K 1599, or as we know it as Diaderi Prime. This time with a better understanding on what we are looking for, and what to be prepared for. I am working with Captain Foraker of the Bacco to begin planning a more in-depth survey on the planet's surface to look for remains of military installations and former Governmental buildings. We know that Civilian communications have survived this long and there stands to reason that Military and Governmental files and communications are also still on the planet somewhere. To find these files and communications, we will gain a better understand of the events leading to the complete annihilation of the Diaderi Confederacy, as well as proof that the Azedi are for sure Species 2492.

Commander,
Well what you have laid out seems a good start, I'm willing to give this support. I'll need updates as you progress through, as well as what it ends up taking to secure Ms Avlin's help. On the note of her, clear anything with Command before offering it, I'd hate for you to offer up something that can't be followed through on. No sense in complicating matters at the first step.

Also while I do agree to the primary target, I'd like you to make the investigation of K-1599 happen. Regardless of the possible data in the debris field, a location that has already yielded some results is certainly worth a second, more in depth, look. If you'd rather I can task this to a separate Officer so you can focus your efforts on Ms Avlin's cooperation and data.

Let me know, keep me up to date.

I do plan to try and meet with Admiral Konieczko to see if the conditional forgiveness is something I can offer as soon as I can. I will also begin make arrangements for a return mission to K-1599. The arrangements will take time due to the toxic surface of K-1599 and measures will need to be taken before the mission can begin.
