It is my duty to inform you of the fate of one of our freighter convoys.
The convoy originated in the Boreth Sector and was scheduled for a stopover at FOB: Kargas before proceeding the rest of the way to Qo'noS. Twelve freighters were assigned to transport surplus weapons supplies from the Tholian front to bolster defenses in the Qo'noS sector. Two Vor'cha class battlecruisers and three B'rel class Birds of Prey were assigned to convoy escort duty.
A distress call was received from the convoy in the Donatu sector, at its closest approach to the Federation border. My battlegroup responded immediately. Upon arriving at the source of the signal, we found the entire convoy destroyed. A Starfleet combat vessel, identifying itself as the USS Paladin, was discovered among the wreckage. Examination of the battle damage confirms that Starfleet weapons were used in the destruction of our ships.
I ordered the capture of the Starfleet vessel, but the cowards fled before we reached weapons range. The IKS Bak'nor pursued the ship into Federation space, but was unable to continue tracking after it entered Klach D'Kel Brakt.
Approximately one fifth of the convoy's cargo was recovered from the wreckage and will be transferred by warship for the remainder of the route. There was evidence in the wreckage to indicate that the convoy escorts and the freighters defended themselves prior to its destruction, and it is my belief that our warriors have earned their places in Sto'vo'kor.
