Captain Varley,
As Deep Space 13 has played a crucial role in developing anti-Azedi measures in the past, I tasking you to spearhead Operation N’Rahl Votara. I do not expect you to be solely responsible for this operation; however, I do require that all departments across the station coordinate their efforts to achieve our objectives.
I am aware that you will undoubtedly be preoccupied with the task of filling the vacant departmental head positions. That said, I strongly recommend that a candidate’s ability to contribute meaningfully to the operation’s success be considered a core element of your evaluations.
I also note that one of the vacant positions is that of Chief of Intelligence. Given that the Intelligence Department will play a pivotal role in the success of Operation Hidden Web, I must stress the urgency of filling this position with the utmost expedience. Both Major Valencia, the XO of the 6th MACO Group, and Lieutenant Sovum of the Endeavour are eager to advance this mission, but their efforts cannot proceed effectively without the crucial support of Intelligence. I trust you will prioritise this matter accordingly.
