One of the Orionii Houses, Valante’ Valusia, is conducting business in the Betreka Nebula, and it seems to be illicit in nature. While most of the House’s business has been primarily slave trade/species trafficking, it would seem they are now concentrating their efforts on illicit drug manufacture and distribution.
We however do not believe that this is their main objective. This substance, “Zal Vesh”, or “long leash” in Fed Common, seems to not only have a narcotic affect but also is both mentally and physically addictive. Worse yet, it seems to also replace the effect an Orion female’s pheromones have on the males of some species in that it allows those females with a similar genetic makeup, in this case, the women of House Valante’ Valusia, to control those addicted.

- Janns Valusia - Male, Age 39,Federation Prisoner, Convicted of Piracy, On Parole

Ensia Valusia has stayed visible for as much as a Tabadi would do so. She is obviously not shy about flaunting her power, but there isn’t much to tie her to this operation beyond an informant’s words, and the people involved being members/slaves of Valante’ Valusia.
Regarding LCDR Valusia, we have been informed (read: sternly threatened) that the LCDR is not to be “interrogated” as she is a “decorated officer that we know what side she plays for” (sic). This was from the last person who not only interviewed LCDR Valusia, but also put three of her siblings in Federation Custody, namely the now retired Captain Regiatta Tohanna. Make of that what you will. I am only the messenger.
That said, we have lost contact with the three former prisoners upon their release. It is assumed they have gone back to Orion, but there is speculation that they may have become involved in this current venture along with the rest of the family.
Gench Valusia’s whereabouts are known as he is still working as a rigging specialist at Imulak Port Services on Rigel VIII. He refuses, however, to discuss family dealings and claims no knowledge of this current plot. The consensus is that he is telling the truth.
Meleinia Valusia has recently left her home on Aria Prime and seems to be headed deeper into Federation Space. We are not sure if that will mean a stop at Orion or not. Might be worth seeing if she stops off there at DS13 for a chat with her Starfleet Officer sister, Jeiliscia. Apparently there is no love-loss between the two. There are rumors that the last visit is the reason why LCDR Valusia sought a billet away from ESD and the LCDR’s former fiance’. Again, make of that what you will.
I really do not have any recommendations on what to do or how to handle this, other then simple be aware of this. The rest is up to you and your command.
