Dear Lieutenant Commander,

As commanding officer of the U.S.S. Harmony, NCC-93634-B, I would like to formally request an evaluation of my command by your department to assess her fitness for immediate deployment within 38th Fleet, Task Force 'Argo', on detachment to Deep Space 13.

At your earliest convenience please inform my command of a timeframe to conduct this evaluation.

I look forward to hearing from you, or your subordinates.

Captain,

I'm glad to make your acquaintance! Our work schedule here in engineering is a bit chaotic at the moment due to our staff shortages, but let me know when you are ready for a ship inspection and I'm sure I can find a few engineers to give your ship a once over. Until then just try not to explode.

...If anything does seem like it's going to explode though you should let us know, we don't want any exploding.

Thank you Lieutenant Commander,

I'm pleased to meet you too, although I hope you forgive me for saying I hope we don't see too much of each other (in a professional capacity, of course!). I fully understand the demands on your staff, and while there's not any immediate problem, my primary concern rests with the Transwarp coils. They're fairly early model, and we pushed them pretty hard during our trip to DS-13. A secondary concern is the load placed on the primary EPS conduits, we saw some pretty significant deviations from the norm, leading to some troubling core pressure increases.

I don't think we're in explosive territory as yet though - we took the core offline on arrival and my chief engineer took everything apart and put it more or less back together again. She's pretty sure that the power fluctuations are a by-product of the older model TW coils interfacing with some of the newer technology placed on the Harmony during her re-commissioning, in particular she believes there is interference from the new model bio-neural circuits. She would very much like a second opinion though - I've attached her logs and observations.

We've synchronised our duty shifts to DS-13's. I'm usually available during Alpha or Beta shifts if you need to contact me directly.
