I get it. Honestly, I do. But this isn’t going to be a repeat of the Iconians, or another Ecurai-n Llaihr. This is going to be war, against the full brunt of the Empire. Our best chance to end this quickly is to press the Federation to act, and for that we’ll need people like you that can tell them exactly what the Empire will do to the worlds they conquer.
Stay with the 38th, don’t let them forget about us. Don’t let them stand by and watch.

Look, I know I’m not exactly a combatant but I’d rather be Computering the Tal Shiar to death than sit by and deal with a bunch of Aliens that wouldn’t defend their meal, let alone help us!
Besides, what would I tell the Federation? ‘Get off your backsides and actually pretend to be allies??’ I’m certain that wouldn’t go over very well. What was the point of an alliance?

“Computering the Tal Shiar to death”? Shia, D’Ishae is a warship, you’ll be much safer on DS-13. We already have orders to deploy to Tri’Vokil to reinforce the front there, if the Empire breaks through there we’ll be cut off from Ra’kholh and Chulan. If what I’m hearing is right it’s going to be a fight from the moment we enter the system. As soon as we’re restocked we’re heading for the staging grounds by the Dyson gate, over Ecurai.
…and I want to be clear that is not an invitation to stow away.

Seriously though. I hear your words. I know I’m only a horticulturalist, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to find a way to fight to defend my people. And what’s left of my family. And…
Oh wait. There is something I can do and I’m pretty sure I won’t get in trouble by either the Exchange Commission or the DS 13 Sciences department. Remember when we went back to see what was left of Ecurai? I have recordings of that.
Guess who is getting copies of that recording and an accompanying message that explains that is what happens to planets that defy the Imperial Star Empire? Would you like to add anything to the message?

OOC Attached to the message is a single holoviewer image, the file stamped with the current stardate. In the foreground is a small spaceport, a mix of aged metal beams and fresh looking scaffolding over a broad patch of oil soaked hard pack. Bright flood lights shine down on a mix of Romulan shuttles ferrying supplies and even a small warbird, landed and berthed on the ground.
Past the refurbished spaceport a handful of hastily assembled prefabricated Romulan barracks and command buildings dot a field of tall green grass, marked at odd intervals by barren crescent shaped patches of dirt. The buildings grow more and more sparse as the field stretches on alongside a river, running back to a set of flat topped stone plateaus.
Far in the distance, set into the walls and shadowed valley between two tall plateaus, sat the crumbling ruins of an abandoned city. Even from this distance the hallmarks of Romulan architecture are plain to see, littered with the glinting metal detritus of a long-ago battle.

I took it as soon as I touched down. They’re calling it Forward Base Rhia’hlan’le, using it as a staging ground to push back on Tri’Vokil. Command has set up operations inside of Tevalra’s old office at the shipyard. I feel like I’m walking through a graveyard down here but no one seems to notice the city up the river.
Or if they do, at least they aren’t talking about it.
