We’ve been watching players’ reactions to the news and reacting accordingly; it seemed prudent to prioritize a document to clarify what the Argo vision of Khitomer Alliance is going to be and how to work your various characters into it. So please enjoy the following blurbs that will eventually find their way into our final settings documents.
In addition to these, though, we wanted to provide some critical information regarding the timeline. The final Fall Awards Ceremony will be on Sat, Nov 28th. After this date, Argo will acknowledge a time lapsed period of exactly one IC year, making our official first IC date Sun, Nov 29th, 2426.

Players are welcome to generally create whatever backstory is necessary to fill in the gap of one year. We will all get to start the new era introducing or re-introducing our chars and catching them up on what they’ve been doing in that time!

Khitomer Alliance
The Khitomer Alliance is a coalition between the major factions of the four quadrants. The Alliance traces its origins to April 2413 when the United Federation of Planets and Klingon Empire signed a ceasefire in order to jointly combat an existential threat to the galaxy. At the end of the Iconian War the following year, the Khitomer Alliance was formalized with the Romulan Republic joining as the third founding member. The Alliance has since expanded to include several other powers, including former adversaries such as the Cardassian Union and the Dominion. While the individual members of the Alliance do not always share the same goals, they recognize the need to set aside their day-to-day differences to defend against mutual enemies.
In the spirit of closer cooperation, the Khitomer Alliance eventually established its own Allied Fleet Service (AFS) and launched its first battlecruiser by Aug 2420. Though the AFS continues to recruit, crew, and operate their own assets in limited numbers, the Alliance’s greatest impact on the shape and events of the modern galaxy lies in its joint administration of critical infrastructure – installations and assets that member factions share a mutual interest in securing, staffing, and maintaining together. Deep Space 13 is one such installation, now standing as one of the Alliance’s most significant footholds in the Aldebaran Sector.

Aldebaran Sector, Beta Quadrant
Deep Space 13 is a major Federation facility in the Aldebaran Sector of the Beta Quadrant. Formerly the headquarters of Starfleet’s 38th Fleet and a key stronghold near the Klingon border, in the era of the Khitomer Alliance it serves as a major hub of joint operations, hosting personnel from the Federation, Klingon Empire, and Romulan Republic alongside a substantial civilian population. Though its command structure has changed, the station’s role as a center for defense, diplomacy, and exploration in the region and as home to the thousands who live and work within its decks.
Administered by the Khitomer Alliance, Deep Space 13 operates as a joint installation, staffed in large part by personnel from Starfleet, the Klingon Defense Force, and the Romulan Republic, each serving under posts held open for their respective governments. Though a small percentage of officers are direct Allied Fleet Service recruits, the majority of officers stationed aboard remain members of their own service; a Starfleet officer posted to DS13 answers to the station’s Alliance command structure day-to-day, while remaining a Starfleet officer under Starfleet’s authority, just as their Klingon and Romulan counterparts remain accountable to their own. Postings to the station are considered a routine and sought-after assignment across all three services and other affiliations.
