U.O. - 114392

Full Name: Unknown Object - 114392

Description:
The object presents itself as a gravitational anomaly, similar in some characteristics to a small black hole: however, it doesn't exercise any effect on the surrounding environment, making it similar to a sort of bubble, completely separated by the exterior environment thanks to the strength of its gravitational force.
Inside, this bubble is completely void, except for the presence of a sphere, of fourty (40) kilometers of diameter, made of a composite alloy of unknown metals. Although perfectly smooth on the surface, inside this sphere has a very complex structure: platforms and connections composes an extremely tangled pattern. Part of the sphere is organic.
Available information led to hypothesise that the sphere is, in effect, a sentient being of some sort, able to telepathically communicate on a wide range. Since communication has not been established on a proper basis, it is impossible to determine much details about it. It's possible that the sphere uses a very peculiar system of images to describe concepts.
It is also under scrutiny the hypothesis that the sphere can manipulate the surrounding bubble at its will. In this case, manipulation comes in the form of strong gravitational pulls, that can attract all objects surrounding the bubble in its interior, with possible dangerous consequences, due to the strength of such forces.
The sphere and the bubble are without doubt able to move: although it's impossible to determine the exact nature of their propulsion system, probably it comes once again through a manipulation on subspace level of gravitational forces which pull the bubble in the desired direction.

The object has been encountered by the U.S.S. Ananke in stardate 92834.6 during an exploration assignment in the Doza sector. The ship came to be trapped inside the bubble, suffering heavy damages, while its crew experienced first hand a mass telepathic event (Full report here)
No further contacts with the object has been made until then.

Final Notes:
Analysis and studies on the object are still underway. Until it's not possible to further determine its origins, nature, and intentions, in case of further contacts captains are advised to exercise extreme caution and to keep a significant safe distance from the bubble.
