Stealth Capacity
The Endymion can count on some sophisticated systems to overrun eventual enemies. One of the innovation of the Endymion is an advanced stealth system. Not comparable to a romulan or klingon cloaking device, the energetic system of the ship is constructed to disperse less energy then the normal ship and, at the same time, to contain the ionization trace leaved by its passage. Lowering its trail, the Endymion is capable of "disappear" temporarily and only if at safe distance from the enemy sensors, from the scanners. The ship cannot maintain forever a lowered footprint and must recharge the system to allow to the particles not-recycled to be dispersed. In general, the ship maintain a lower-energetic profile than other ships.
=^= THIS INFORMATION IS CLASSIFIED UNDER SECLAR 1. NO ONE, EXPECT THE DIRECT INFORMED PEOPLE, CAN OR WILL KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS SYSTEM =^=
The USS Endymion, like the unlucky USS Phantasos, mounts an experimental Phase-Cloaking Device. According to the treaty between the Federation and the former Romulan Empire, Starfleet cannot develop, independently, any kind of cloaking device. Using the data analyzed from the Pegasus Incident and using newest information collected from the Voth Technology, Intelligence was able to create two prototype of an Phase-Cloaking device, installed in the two sister ships, the Phantasos and the Endymion. The device is able to make the ship disappears for less then five second from this phase. The ship, in this condition, can pass through every kind of material and energy field. The system, installed on board, can not be used if not until special and unique circumstances. The only people informed about the presence of the device on board are the senior officer of the vessel (Captain, First Officer, Chief Engineer, chiefs of science and tactical departments).
Operative capacity
While the Sovereign Class was designed to be an admiral ship, the Archon Class was created with the intention to give to Starfleet a new vessel capable of comply to many different missions and tasks, alone or with the support of other ships. A vessel like the Endymion is designed to be resistant, resilient and autonomous. The warp engine is modified to grant the possibility of optimize the use of the dilithium supplies on board. The energy saving system, created with in mind to improve the battle and recon performances of the ship, can help to maintain the ship away from friendly bases for much more time, useful both in military and in exploration operations. In normal situation, the ship can provide to most of the fleet's tasks necessary but, certainly, the ship is specialized in provide military support and firepower in any kind of difficult situation.
Engineering situation
Not the fastest ship in the Federation, the Endymion can maintain a standard cruiser velocity of Warp 7,5 or 8 for long times. In case of emergency the ship can count on a maximum warp speed of 9.99998 and the access to the federal slipstream and quantum technologies. The ship mounts on board Covariant Shield Arrays, designed to sustain heavy enemy fire. The shields can react to the energy fire in real-time, refracting part of the enemy shots and altering their configurations analyzing the incoming damages. Another particularity of the ship is the relevant change of the normal nacelles of the Archon Class. In the Endymion they're replaced with nacelles from the Imperial Class, a variant of the Sovereign Class. According to the designers, the nacelles of the Imperial grant better speed performance with a longitudinal line and to protect the plasma external mainfolds.
Modification of the structure
Behind the change in the nacelles design, the Endymion has other differences with the original plans of the Archon-Class. One of the most important is the implementation of a CHQ in the deck below the bridge. The CHQ Room is designed to be a strategic room, for coordinate the efforts of more ships or of an entire squadron. If normally the CHQ Room is designed with a military goal, the room is adaptable to become the center of different operations, from rescue mission to exploration adventures. The room, linked with the main system of the ship, can be used as auxiliary bridge, to create a work place for eventual hosts and anything similar. Another room not included in the first design of the ship is the kitchen, a full functional kitchen for the crew. According to one of the designer, a kitchen could be useful to improve the social ambient of the crew and create a "friendly space".
Shuttles on board
The Endymion substitutes all the normal shuttles provided with four new ones. All of them are named after the shuttles of the Tyre, destroyed during the incidents that cost the lives of half of the crew of the ship and the ship it self. The Endymion can count on the support of two Yellowstone-Runabout, called Fez and Arles, one Peregrine-fighters, the Sidon and, at least, on the Tangeri, a Delta Flyers Mk II.

A female bolian with light blue skin, Borsk Taka is a humble but very competent engineer. An old friend of the captain. has worked with him during the years passed to develop the Carthago and the Presidio Class. She followed him on board the new ship, then on the Tyre and, at least, on the Endymion, where she took the place of chief engineer from the former officer, Borsk Taka, who was sent to Utopia Planitia. She has a fast chat and she's considered a mostly happy person. She lost two brothers during the Iconian Conflict and doesn't return to Bolarus since the end of the war.
Commander Leesa Parkin Atton, third officer of the USS Endymion and referent for strategic and tactical operation.
Spoiler: More infoShow
Female woman, born in the human colony of Proxima III, Leesa is a young, strong, commander of Starfleet with a military curriculum of all respect. She served during the Iconian Conflict and in the aftermath without a precise assignment. As strategic officer, she was often moved between different vessels and bases. For this reason, apparently, she seems a solitary person, who engage rarely in conversion out of work. In reality, she is a friendly person and, when accustomed to someone, can talks a lot about her favorite topics: ships, musics from all the quadrants and old legends.
Commander P'Kalla, science officer on board the USS Endymion.

Female vulcan with a past in the Academy of Science of Vulcan. She has chosen to serve in Starfleet in a sort of empirical turn of her studies and in the desire to have an active part in the life of the Federation. Thanks to the time passed in the Academy, she has a valid and various curriculum and is capable to work on different kind of field without problem. She has a passion for the vulcan harp and for the human piano. With the commander Ginion she usually perform duet on board.
Commander Ronan "The Accuser" Ginion, security chief on the USS Endymion

Betazoid, member of a minor house of the planet, Borsan chose to spent most of his years travelling around, before with his parents (both private explorers) then in Starfleet. Unlike most officers, he preferred to don't take a precise specializations. He is a skilled engineer, with major knowledge in the field of quantum mechanics but he's brilliant in organize the life on board of a ship with a rare precision. Lover of games of all sort, he is seen often in organize team games in the holo-rooms on board.
Lieutenant Commander Memso'ikat, tactical operator on board the USS Endymion.
Spoiler: More infoShow
After the rise of the True Way in the Alpha Quadrant and the re-use of some of the cloning facilities of the Dominion, the True Way was capable of create, again, Alpha Jem'Hadar. But, at the same time, they weren't capable of control them. Most of the new soldiers escaped. Most of them died, but one of them, Memso'ikat, survived. Rescued from a bajorian young girl in a colony not far from the True Way structures, he was transported to DS9, to understand what to do with his future. Without the natural imprinting to serve the Founders, neither an addiction to the White Kretacel, Memso'ikat was an unpredictable variable. During his days on DS9, he knew a starfleet officer, named Atton Leesa Parkin, a strategic expert of Starfleet. The two made a sort of strange friendship and she requested to have assigned, as escort, the man. He started to learn his new life following Atton in her various assignment and became early an expert of Starfleet's tactical protocols. He found in the art of writing a real passion. Some rumors suggests he's starting to write an auto-biography.
Commander Nelen Exil, chief medical officer and exo-biologist on board the USS Endymion

Nelen Exil is a voth, a scientist of the Assembly and a former member of the Voth Medical Academy and Guild. Like some of other voths, he was against the conflict with the mammals and, after the Iconian Conflict, he took the occasion of a distension between the different factions in the galaxy to engage in a personal travels between the quadrants. During a trip near Deep Space Nine, he encountered the Carthago and his captain, VanDeer. After several years spent on Earth, studying what was considered the original planet of his species, he requested the permission to work on a Starfleet's ship and VanDeer welcomed it on board the Endymion, granting him the temporary rank of Commander and of chief medical officer.
