U.S.S. RAFALE
MULTI-MISSION RECONNAISSANCE EXPLORER
Starfleet Registry NCC-83974-A

The U.S.S. Rafale is a Vesta-class starship that served during the Iconian War. Though the space frame was completed years before, the ship sat in mothballs until 2414 as the Alliance suffered heavy losses to the Iconians. The ship was activated in mid-2414, and the crew of the Akira class Rafale was pulled back together to crew the ship. Jessica St. Peter, the crew's acting captain, was granted a provisional promotion to Commander and assigned as the captain of the ship. At the request of her XO, Lt. Commander Obruz, the ship was christened as the Starship Rafale and given a legacy registry to honor the crew's former ship.
Due to an anomaly with the ship's quantum slipstream drive, Rafale was catapulted thousands of light-years to the Andromeda Galaxy during one of her first combat engagements during the war, and declared MIA. After managing to repair the damage to the slipstream drive and fending off against Iconian entrenched in the other galaxy, Rafale attempted to return to the Milky Way galaxy: it succeeded, though only partially as it was later discovered the ship was now stranded in the Mirror Universe. The problem finally corrected, the crew managed to successfully return to their own galaxy and universe in late 2414, and were present at the Battle of Sol.
Following the war, the Rafale was drydocked for an extensive refit and repairs to her propulsion systems. She was deemed spaceworthy once again in 2416 and launched without incident, though her systems do still cause issues from time to time.
The Rafale sports a captain's yacht (the Storm Scream), one Yellowstone runabout (the Cheval), and a squadron of Scorpion-fighter craft.
