HISTORY

The Brigid class is the latest evolution of the Vesta-type Multi-Mission Explorers. Ships of the Brigid class are named for female deities of knowledge from cultures other than Greco/Roman; Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom, and learning.

Saraswati was constructed at the New Aberdeen Yards, Aldebaran Sector. Structural assembly began on stardate 92206, with final fitting out being completed on stardate 93093, nearly 11 months later. She was officially launched on stardate 93095. Following her shakedown, she was assigned to the 38th Fleet, under the command of Captain Sanara Draz.
