Ship's Dedication Plaque:

After the success of the U.S.S. Yorktown and its outstanding performance, Starfleet ordered additional Yortkown-class ships amongst them the U.S.S. Yuri Gagarin. Starfleet decided to honour the first human cosmonaut again by renaming a ship after him, something that hasn't been done in a while. Thus was the Yuri Gagarin built above Mars at Utopia Planetia Fleetyards in the Sol System. It's construction had been stalled for a while as the needed materials for it's construction were instead used for repairs of other ships during the Iconian war.
The ship itself is brand new, it was just launched at stardate 93280.6. However it is looking at a grand voyage lead by Captain Andrei Șerban. After a small trip to the Gagarin System, the ship has been posted to the 38th Fleet, Gemini Squadron. Its crew eager for the missions to come.
