Launched on Stardate 86000 as the second ship to bear the name Akagi. During the height of the recent Klingon war, the Akagi served in several major engagements, Including a skirmish during the 2400 incident. After the end of the Klingon war, the Akagi was reassigned to the inner core of the Federation as heavier ships were rolling off the line.

During the Battle of Sol, the Akagi was involved in the defense of Mars, where it took damage, surprisingly only losing a few crew members, after the battle the Akagi underwent a refit that lasted six months. After the refit, it was reassigned in the Delphic Expanse until being reassigned under Captain Nimitz in the 38th Fleet.

In her service with the 38th Fleet, the Akagi has seen more action then ever before, taking part in every major engagement of the Tzenkethi Conflict with the exception of the Battle of Bajor, and leading the defenses of Trill and Betazed during the Hur'q Crisis.

These are the voyages of the starship Akagi. Its on-going mission, to expand the borders of the map. To stand as a bulwark against hostile forces. To be a bold, shining example of the best that Starfleet can be.

Senior Staff

First Officer: Commander Koro, Kelpien Male, age 44.

Commander Koro has been assigned to the USS Akagi since launch, starting out as Assistance Chief of Engineering, before becoming Chief Engineer. One month after Captain Nimitz took command of the Akagi, Koro was promoted to First Officer.

Chief Engineer/Second Officer: Commander Rafael Tremaine, Human Male, Age 36.

Commander Rafael Tremaine was assigned to the USS Akagi during construction as the Chief Engineer. For five years he served as Chief Engineer before being promoted to First Officer in 2413. In March of 2416, upon the retirement of Captain Rath, Commander Tremaine took over as acting Captain of the Akagi until Captain Nimitz was assigned to take command in November of 2416. One month later, Commander Tremaine was demoted to Chief Engineer as Commander Koro replaced him as First Officer.

Chief Medical Officer: Commander Fritz Suchon, Human Male, Age 38.

Doctor Suchon has been assigned to the Akagi since 2409. He took over as Chief Medical Officer after the retirement of the previous Chief Medical officer in 2415. He is most notable for his work in helping the Nimitz family with the birth of their first daughter, Herra Nimitz, the known first Human/Andorian/Romulan hybrid.

Chief of Operations Lieutenant Commander Oshrale zh'Orhiaqik, Andorian Zhen, Age 32.

Commander zh'Orhiaqik has been assigned to the Operations department on the Akagi since 2411, she was promoted to acting head of the department by Commander Tremaine in 2416 as the previous Operations Chief accepted a spot for First Officer on the USS Zhukov. After Captain Nimitz took command of the Akagi, she was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and her position as Chief of Operations was made permanent.

Captains

Captain Ryan Rath, Human Male, age 87.

Captain Rath served as Captain of the Akagi from 2409 to 2416. Under Captain Rath's command the Akagi saw little action during the ending years of the Klingon Wars. Captain Rath was thought by many as a man past his prime and overly cautious, a trait that some might say rubbed off onto the crew. Being assigned under his command was thought by many as an easy assignment.

Commander Rafael Tremaine, Human male, age 36.

Serving as acting Captain from January 2416 to November 2416. Commander Tremaine's short term in command was thought by many as average, patrolling what used to be the Delphic Expanse left very little opportunities to explore new things. After it was announced that a new Captain would be taking command, Commander Tremaine's ambitions to one day officially take command of the Akagi began to crumble, in a downfall that lead to his demotion to Chief Engineer.

Captain Alistair Nimitz, Romulan Male, age 55.

Captain Nimitz's arrival onboard the Akagi marked a new era for the ship and crew. Taking swift action, the crew began finding themselves challenged in new ways. The ship also began seeing more action then ever before in its service history upon being thrust into the middle of the Tzenkethi conflict and later defending Federation World during the Hur'q crisis.

The bridge of the USS Akagi (NCC-1779-A) is designed to be a modernization of the classic Constitution class bridge. The main tactical station is located to the left of the Captain's chair, while to the right is the First Officer's Station. Directly to the front of the Captain's chair is the Helm and Operations console.

At any given time there are twelve to fifteen officers and crewmen on duty depending on the shift. When fully manned at Red Alert there is a total of Twenty-Two officers and crewmen on duty in the bridge.
