Class: M
Planet Name: Vulcan
Location: Alpha Quadrant
Affiliation: United Federation of Planets
Short Summary
The Home of the Native Species of Vulcan, they were the first to discover the human warp vessel of Earth,
and set out to assist them in their growing ambition to explore the galaxy, eventually becoming one of the
founding planets of the United Federation of Planets along with the Humans, Andorians and the Tellarites
Vulcan has a considerably higher gravity and thinner atmosphere than Earth. Its climate is of a high temperature, with most of the surface consisting of large deserts or mountain ranges, along with scattered small seas. Desert areas are prone to large amounts of heat, light, and electrical sand fire storms.
Vulcan is divided in provinces. There are several tourist attractions on Vulcan, including active volcanoes, ancient ruins, and lava fields.
Vulcan continues to be a great contributor to the United Federation of Planets, it's native species lending it's resources and scientific as well as
diplomatic capabilities whenever the council of the Federation deems it necessary.
Geography
The Planet of Vulcan features different aspects, but they are all similar, as Vulcan is known for it's
intensified temperatures and climate, the Fire Plains is an area consisting of lava flow as well as
statues, all of which is filled with cultural history of the Vulcan people. Along with the Fire
Plains are the similarly dangerous deserts of the Vulcan's forge, where predatory animals are
known to dwell, along with the dangers of starvation and dehydration
Additionally, the planet of Vulcan is not without water, though it does not have it in abundance
as Earth does, it can be noted that creatures on Vulcan have similarly adapted to the lack of
this resource, and it is likely that during the period of violence with the Vulcan people, there
were probably many wars fought over areas of water, and any locations where springs
might be present. Notable bodies of water are the Voroth Sea, and Lake Yuron.
Biotics
Animals such as the Le-matya, and the Sehlat(often domesticated as pets) , are
famous for being predators. While of course there are herbivores amongst the
native species of vulcan, such as the Vulcan Sandworm.
Speculation in species origin and/or shared ancestry
Coincidentally, the name Vulcan is present within the mythological culture of earth(a land filled with fiery plains and volcanos),
and it is speculated that by some happening which has not yet been revealed, that the cultures and perhaps the ancestry of both
Humans, Vulcans, Andorians and perhaps even Klingons are somehow intertwined in a genealogical relationship beyond mere
coincidence.
